AUDITION CALL

WITH BATED BREATH by Bryden MacDonald
Directed by Bryden MacDonald and Roy Surette

AUDITIONS TO BE HELD IN MONTREAL ONLY
Audition Dates to be Confirmed
By appointment only

From the author of Divinity Bash/Nine Lives, The Weekend Healer and Whale Riding Weather, With Bated Breath is the provocative tale of Willy, a troubled but charismatic gay kid who flees Cape Breton Island for Montreal with hopes of forgetting a newly broken heart. He finds momentary comfort with the denizens of the city’s red light district, but soon goes missing without a trace. Willy, in one way or another, has had a profound effect on the lives of the other characters. His presence lingers. As rumors fly, secrets explode, and reality blurs with fantasy, Willy is both remembered and reinvented. Imbued with equal measures of wit and warmth, MacDonald proves to be a master of merging the pedestrian with the highly theatrical.

With Bated Breath rehearses from March 24, 2009, previews April 21 and 22, 2009, opens April 23, 2009 and closes May 24, 2009.

Scripts are available for reading at Centaur Theatre during office and box office hours.

Agents are asked to only submit candidates who are available throughout the production period and complete run of the play. Requests for absence for film or television work during the rehearsal period are discouraged and may not be possible.

Please submit hard copies of photos and resumes of new candidates to Catherine Vokey, Centaur Theatre Company, 453 St-Francois-Xavier, Montreal H2Y 2T1 by noon, Wednesday, May 28, 2008. At present, there are no auditions scheduled for outside of Montreal.
